Great participation in the OBI workshop on “Protection and Exploitation of Industrial Property at National and European Level”
On Wednesday 20 March 2024, the Mediterranean Centre of Agri-Food Capabilities MACC, in the context of the extroversion of the Science and Technology Park of Crete, organized a workshop of the Industrial Property Organization OBI on “ Protection and Exploitation of Industrial Property at National and European Level “.
In the conference room of the KEK Technical Schools of Heraklion Chamber, more than 70 attendees gathered and watched the speeches in person, while a large participation from all over Greece was recorded in the live broadcast via MACC’s social media.
The conference was opened by Dr. George Papamichael, Director of the Science and Technology Park Crete (ETEP Crete) and greeted by Maximos Senetakis, Deputy Minister of Development & Επενδύσεων, ο Δρ. Michael Katharakis, Head of the Mediterranean Centre of Capabilities MACC, Leonidas Dragomanos, Vice President of the Board of Directors of OBI, Georgios Manousakis, MACC Network Development Manager and Evangelos Glakas, President of the Regional Chamber of Economy of Eastern Crete.
The conference was attended by the guests Mrs.Chrysa Daskalaki, Director General of Development Planning of Region of Crete, Mr.Spyros Balantinos, Delegate Councillor of the Region of Crete for the Interconnection of Tourism with the Primary Sector, Mrs.Maria Petradonaki, Director of the Regional Development Company of Crete and Mr.Antonis Papaderakis, Special Advisor on Innovation of the Region of Crete.
The speakers of the workshop were Michaela Markaki, Attorney, Directorate of Judicial OBI on the topic “Intellectual Property Rights – Overview”, Dr. Kyriaki Glynou, Chemist, OVI Examiner on “Protection of Patented Inventions in Greece”, Christina Andrikopulou, Chemist, OVI Examiner on: “New Service for the Support of Start-ups and Small and Medium Enterprises”, o George Kefalogiannis, representative of OVI on “Electronic Filing of National Trademark” and two representatives of the European Patent Office who were connected via zoom on “Software and Algorithm Protection: how innovation in IT is protected” and “Unitary Patent and the European Patent”.
The conference was moderated by Ms. Rania Zacharopoulou, Head of OBI Communication Department.
