SMART AGRO GENIUS - Creating a network of infrastructure for smart agriculture services
The Mediterranean AgroFood Competence Centre (MACC) has identified the need for the installation of digital infrastructure and technologies in the Region of Crete, through collaboration with consultancy companies, cooperatives, producer groups and oil producers, as well as with the Region of Crete. To address this need, MACC installed and activated four gates of the LORA system, covering almost all of the rural areas of Heraklion. In parallel, thirteen sensors were connected at different points in the area to measure the reliability of the system and its ability to provide advice.
The Mediterranean Agri-Food Competence Centre MACC, having been in contact with consultancy companies, cooperatives, producer groups and olive growers, as well as with the Region of Crete, identified the need for the use of digital infrastructure and technologies in the Region of Crete. The Commission has identified the need for the use of digital technologies and technologies for the development of digital farming. To address this need, it designed and installed four LORA system gateways, covering almost all of the rural areas of Heraklion. At the same time, thirteen sensors were connected in different parts of the area in order to measure the reliability of the system and its ability to provide advice.
