Workshop on: Capability Centers – Modern Innovation Support Structures

Workshop on:

COMPETENCE CENTRES

Modern Innovation Support Structures

17 May 2024

Leonidas Zervas Amphitheatre, National Hellenic Research Foundation, Leof. Basically. 48 Konstantinou Street, Athens, Greece

Capability Centres are public-private structures created to bridge the gap between supply and demand for specialised services/innovation products and technology transfer in one or more value chains.

In the framework of the implementation of the “Capability Centres” Action, ten (10) new legal entities – Capability Centres were established by dynamic businesses and research institutions, covering real needs of important sectors of the country, critical for society and the national economy. They relate to the priority areas of the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation (RIS3): information and communication technologies (ICTs) and Information and Communication Technologies, Agri-food, Energy, Health & Food, Agriculture, Health, Pharmaceuticals and Materials – Construction.

The Action was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and by national resources through the Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (CIP). Innovation (EPANEK).

The conference is dedicated to the presentation of the results of the ten projects included in the Action. Specifically, it presents the identity and the innovative services/products that each Capability Centre has developed and is able to provide, the groups of beneficiaries/users that it addresses in order to increase their productivity and improve their competitiveness, and finally its actions so far to penetrate the domestic and international market.

During the workshop, there will be the possibility of direct communication between the interested parties and the representatives of the Capability Centres, in an appropriately designed area in the atrium of the amphitheatre, in order to further inform them about the operation and the specialised capabilities of each Centre.
