COMPETENCE CENTRES

Modern Innovation Support Structures

17 May 2024

Modern innovation in the field of innovation and innovation management, National Research Foundation, Leonidas Zervas Amphitheatre, National Research Foundation, Leof. 48 Vass.

Centres of Excellence are public-private sector structures created to bridge the gap between supply and demand for specialised innovation services/products and technology transfer in one or more value chains.

In the framework of the implementation of the "Capability Centres" Action, ten (10) new legal entities - Capability Centres were established by dynamic enterprises and research institutions, covering real needs of important sectors of the country, critical for society and the national economy. They relate to the priority sectors of the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation (RIS3): Information & Communication Technologies, Agri-Food, Energy, Health & Pharmaceuticals and Materials - Construction.

The Action was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union and national resources through the Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (CIP).

The workshop is dedicated to the presentation of the results of the ten projects included in the Action. In particular, the identity and the innovative services/products that each Capability Centre has developed and is able to provide, the groups of beneficiaries/users that it addresses in order to increase their productivity and improve their competitiveness, and finally its actions so far for penetration in the domestic and international market will be presented.

During the workshop, there will be the possibility of direct communication between the interested parties and the representatives of the Capability Centres, in an appropriately designed area in the atrium of the amphitheatre, in order to further inform them on the operation and specialised capabilities of each Centre.
